Bethlehem Covenant Church, Sanford Wheaton Medical Center, North Country Food Bank and the Traverse County Food Shelf have partnered together to supply a weekend backpack food program to children ages preschool through 12th grade. This is a free program for anyone who signs up, no restrictions or requirements. 2 times a month the children/students receive a 3-4 lb. bag of food to take home for the weekend. It includes milk, cereal, snacks, fruit, and main entrees.
